A very competitive game against two evenly matched teams, leads to a draw.
In a rollercoaster of a match, with both sides being on top at various stages, included some moments of individual excellence.
Archie Broughton led from the front again with unbeaten 25 from just 17 balls. Charlie Preston and Casey Kendrick brought the team home with an unbroken stand, reaching 21 and 17 runs each respectively.
In reply, Louie Sharpe and Harry Moore led the bowling attack, taking 3x wickets between them, although their performances probably deserved more if luck was on their side. Further wickets from Charlie Preston (1), Joey Stephanou (2) and Zak Liddinton (1), continued the chip away at the Ashby batting line up. As well as this, some fantastic fielding work from Jensen Sign taking a brilliant catch on the boundary in front of anxious crowd, showed no signs (pardon the name pun) of nervousness, and remained calm under pressure.
Ultimately, magnificent ball striking from Ashby kept them fully in the game, and it left a nail biting last over with Ashby requiring 8 to win.
ITCC managed to restrict them as best they could, and with Ashby only able to score 7x runs in the final over, the match end up tied.
Great game from both teams, a brilliant display of Junior cricket talent.
